Effects - Behringer
V-Amp 2

Virtual Guitar
Amplifier with Tube Simulation and 24-Bit Effects.
The V-AMP2 has some very nice
effects and is possibly Overkill for an
Acoustic guitarist,
but I utilize to for three things/
It has 24-bit technology and is
extremely clean. It has a
very nice simulated Valve Pre-amp
for Microphones and it has a very
sweet Reverb Unit as well as Chorus.
(and Much More for the hard-core
guitarists)
I simply patch it into the Aux
Send/Returns on the Mixer. This way I am
using the drive from
the Mixer rather than making effects my last line
of output before my Computer. It has a very
smooth compressor as
well. $150 US
Compression on the output gives
a
very good balanced output from all all
inputs, and keeps
your audio from peaking and overdriving.

Sound
Card
I used a standard 24-Bit Sound card that came with
my Computer which is a Pentium 4
26500mhz 512 ram.
I have ADSL connection 512 / 128
I run the system into my line input on the Soundcard, hoping to keep
input distortion to a
minimum. Paltalk loves distortion and
rapidly expands on any it gets from the Source.
I find running my mixer and effects light and clean and then getting my
gain from the Master
Output gives me the best response.

So
there you have
it!
I hope sharing this info can be
of assistance to anyone thinking of
investing in their sound a
little.... It's not really an
expensive set- up and I have heard a lot of players sound fantastic
with
just one Mic and no effects.
